Bridesmaids

So the synopsis says,

"Though lovelorn and broke, Annie bluffs her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love."

So, from what I understand, she lies and scams and destroys her reputation and credit rating so that her best friends' wedding is successful?  What would I do for someone I love?  Probably set a better example and would hope that someone who loves me wouldn't let me do stupid things for them.  That's just me.

Wait a minute... I'm so in my Beerbohm zone that I missed the obvious.  This is the most blatant chick-flick of the year (that's what happens when I take myself too seriously).   Bridesmaids will provide women of marrying age and beyond with amusement and fodder for conversation as they reminisce about their own weddings and/or wedding plans.

I used to videotape weddings - actually I just made sure people didn't trip over cords.  As a young man I made one cynical observation about weddings: the bride looks more beautiful than she will ever look again and the groom is happier than he'll ever be again.  It made sense at the time.

I'd rather have a pedicure (and I hate my feet being touched) then watch this movie.
